For a focused revision, define the change scope, preservation scope, and acceptance criteria so the rest of the work is not rewritten unnecessarily.
Identify the exact location
Use a clear reference such as:
- A title or subheading.
- A numbered section or paragraph.
- A table or page.
- A specific file.
- A quoted passage.
Change only the “Market Opportunity” section, shifting the focus from market size to user needs.
State what must remain unchanged
Rewrite only the opening summary. Keep the body structure, data, citations, and conclusion unchanged.
Or:
Adjust the layout on page 4, but do not change any text, numbers, or images.
Describe the intended change
Reduce the second paragraph to no more than 150 words. Remove repetition, but retain the three core conclusions and their sources.
A clear request usually contains:
Target + change method + content to preserve + acceptance criteria
How should you list multiple changes?
Number them so their scopes do not overlap:
- Make the title more direct and keep it under 20 words.
- Shorten the background in section one.
- Add the newly uploaded data to section three.
- Leave every other section unchanged.
How should you review the update?
Check that the requested content changed, preserved content remains intact, data and citations were not altered accidentally, and the revision did not break connections between sections.
For stricter control, ask MuseWork to list the locations it will change before editing.
